Crime Reporting
You can anonymously report a crime through Big Bend Crime Solvers in one of three ways:
- Call (850) 574-TIPS to submit a tip through our 24-hour hotline.
- Download our P3 Tips mobile app to submit a tip.
- Submit a tip through our website.
Note: All methods are encrypted.
After you submit a tip, you will receive a tip code that you can use to check the status of your reward through our mobile app or tip status hotline.
Information from your crime tip is immediately sent through a secure system to investigators at a local law enforcement agency. They investigate the crime and make an arrest if appropriate. If an arrest is made, our team will be notified, and our board of directors will determine an appropriate reward amount between $500 and $5,000.
You will be notified when you check the status on our tip status hotline or mobile app. At that time, you will be given a pickup code and a secure location to claim your reward. No ID or forms are required.
Yes. You can upload photos directly through the P3 app, and with everything else in the app, all your information is anonymous. Photos are very helpful in the investigation.
Any crime can be reported, but here are some of the most common reported crimes: drugs, wanted persons, suspicious activity, financial-related crimes, shootings, murders and theft.
Yes, throughout our process you remain anonymous. From the initial report to picking up your reward, you exclusively use your tip and reward codes—never your name or identity. Remember to never share your code with others.
You can call our secure tip status line at (850) 222-9109 every Tuesday (between 9:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays) or use our mobile app to check the status of your tip and reward. When checking the status of your tip, you must provide your tip code.
If your tip leads to an arrest, you may qualify for a cash reward between $500-5,000. When you are eligible for a reward, you will be provided with a pickup code and a designated location to pick up your reward. You must present both your tip and pickup codes to receive your cash reward – no ID required and no forms to sign.
To ensure tipsters remain anonymous, rewards are paid in cash. To ensure that tipsters remain anonymous rewards are in cash. Specific details about the reward payment procedure are not publicly released for fear of weakening security and because the process changes throughout the year.
No, your call is not recorded or traced.
When you submit a crime tip, we only ask for information you have about the crime you are reporting. This includes:
- A description of the crime (what type of crime occurred, who did it, what happened, when it happened, where it occurred and how you know).
- The location of the crime (if you do not know the exact address-give an approximate location)
- You may be asked additional questions based on the nature of the crime, such as any suspects, specific drugs involved, weapon information, vehicle information and victim information.
You will never be asked for your name or any other identifying information nor should you ever give it.
Every tip is collected anonymously by an out-of-state third-party call center or through our secure mobile app and website form. Once reported, you will receive a tip code and then a pickup code if you are eligible to receive a reward.
Rewards are determined by the Big Bend Crime Solvers Board of Directors. Several factors, including the type of crime, the number of crimes solved, and the number of people arrested and the value of any recovered property or seized narcotics, are taken into consideration. Only anonymous tipsters are eligible for a reward. In the case of multiple tips about the same information, the Board of Directors will reward the giver of the first and most accurate tip.
Submitting a crime tip does not guarantee an arrest or assume the guilt of anyone involved in a potential crime. The local law enforcement agencies who receive the anonymous tip information will investigate the crime and make an arrest if appropriate.

Our process is anonymous. Your I.D. is unknown to us. However, if you are reporting a crime committed in a small group of people or by someone in your immediate family or a friend, there is the possibility that your anonymity may be compromised. If someone, for example, has access to your mobile phone they may be able to see reporting app or your phone call history. To protect your identity and preserve your anonymity, please remove any evidence of reporting the crime on a personal device or use a device that they do not have access to. We also recommend that you be careful about your surroundings as well as your spending habits if you receive a reward.
Law enforcement organizations who investigate crime tips may contact tipsters anonymously through the app to get more information about the crime. They still have no information about you, including your name and would not have the information necessary to contact you in any other way.

A good tip includes as much information as possible, including the who, what, why and where of the situation. However, in most cases, you won’t know everything, so be as observant as you can and pay attention to details, which are often crucial in solving the crime. Keep in mind that every piece of the puzzle helps.

About Crime Solvers
Founded in 1984, Big Bend Crime Solvers is a nonprofit organization with a mission to solve and prevent crime by providing a 24/7 anonymous tip line to report crimes.
Big Bend Crime Solvers provides an anonymous, personal tool for everyone to report crimes and make our community a safer place. Since 1984, crime tips reported to Big Bend Crime Solvers have resulted in thousands of arrests for murder, robbery, rape, assaults, drug and firearm offenses. Our programs have also:
- Increased awareness in the community about crime issues.
- Provided a way for the community to fight back against crime.
Big Bend Crime Solvers is a private, nonprofit organization. It is not a law enforcement agency. We stand in the gap between law enforcement and the community to address crime and provide an anonymous tool for you to provide crime tips. Law enforcement investigates, makes arrests and serves as the intake agency for tipsters’ initial reports of crime.
It is only snitching if you were part of committing the crime. If someone commits a crime in front of you, or if you have information about a crime you had nothing to do with, telling someone is just being a good member of the community. Big Bend Crime Solvers provides you an opportunity to provide that information anonymously and make your community a safer place to live and work.
Big Bend Crime Solvers provides programs and services in Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Taylor and Wakulla counties.
