Information from your crime tip is immediately sent through a secure system to investigators at a local law enforcement agency. They investigate the crime and make an arrest if appropriate. If an arrest is made, our team will be notified, and our board of directors will determine an appropriate reward amount between $500 and $5,000.

• The location of the crime (if you do not know the exact address-give an approximate location)
• You may be asked additional questions based on the nature of the crime, such as any suspects, specific drugs involved, weapon information, vehicle information and victim information.

You will never be asked for your name or any other identifying information nor should you ever give it.

Every tip is collected anonymously by an out-of-state third-party call center or through our secure mobile app and website form. Once reported, you will receive a tip code and then a pickup code if you are eligible to receive a reward.

Rewards are determined by the Big Bend Crime Solvers Board of Directors. Several factors, including the type of crime, the number of crimes solved, and the number of people arrested and the value of any recovered property or seized narcotics, are taken into consideration. Our process is anonymous, but we do recognize that is a possibility of compromising your identity through computer internet history or the mobile app on a personal device. Big Bend Crime Solvers is a personal safety tool that provides a way for people to report crimes who are not comfortable reporting a crime to law enforcement openly. It also provides an opportunity for you to remain anonymous and do not want to be identified or involved as a witness. You must provide the tip through Crime Solvers to be eligible for a reward and remain anonymous.

A good tip includes as much information as possible, including the who, what, why and where of the situation. However, in most cases, you won’t know everything, so be as observant as you can and pay attention to details, which are often crucial in solving the crime. Keep in mind that every piece of the puzzle helps.

However, if time allows, you can call Big Bend Crime Solvers and the operator can call 9-1-1 for you if you do not want to contact law enforcement. However, if for some reason you need to stay anonymous, even in an emergency, you can contact Crime Solvers.

In addition to paying rewards for tips which result in an arrest, Crime Solvers will now pay rewards for non-arrests in the following instances:

1. Recovery of stolen property
2. Recovery of illegal narcotics
3. Recovery of the body of a homicide victim
4. Recovery of a human trafficking victim or a missing person connected to criminal activity
5. Recovery of an illegal firearm or an illegal weapon on a K-12 school campus
6. Prevention of a terrorist act
7. Solving and closing a homicide or other violent felony offense that remains unsolved for 1 year or more after being reported to a law enforcement agency and that has no viable and unexplored investigatory leads.
